Joel comes to us with several years experience in the food manufacturing industry, both as chef and as a member of research and development teams. He is a graduate of the Texas Culinary Academy in Austin and has worked in research and development with Brinker International, Michael Angelo’s Gourmet Foods and Simeus Foods. Over the course of his career, he has specialized in soups and sauces while working for food manufacturers. Joel also has experience in all areas of processed cooked meat items, as well as baked goods. The experience he brings to Classic Foods will be a tremendous asset to our commitment to growth.
VP, National Accounts
Carl came to Classic Foods in 2010 with over 20 years in the food industry. With a B.S. in Food Science from Texas A&M, Carl became a Certified Chef de Cuisine while working for Bennigan’s. His experience includes R&D in manufacturing with focus on proteins, soups, and sauces. Starting in 1992, Carl worked with Portion-Trol Foods as an R&D Food Tech. From there, he worked with Metromedia Restaurant Group from 1994 to 2004, starting as in Supplier Quality Assurance and ending as Director of Culinary Development for Bennigan's. Late in 2004, Carl joined Simeus Foods as Executive Chef in R&D and ended his assignment in 2010 as VP of Culinary and Business Development. While his present assignment with Classic Foods is that of VP of National Accounts, Carl is very hands-on in the R&D process for all Classic Foods customers. Carl is an active member of the Research Chef Association and past South Central Region Key Contact.
